随着苏丹街受到捷运工程影响被征地的事情演变，渐渐唤醒人们对文化古迹的情感及关注。毗邻的吉隆坡旧飞机场路义山群，开辟至今已过百年，不少历史人物、民族英雄、抗战烈士都长眠于此，使之与吉隆坡开埠历史紧密相连。

“跑跑古迹，带出关怀——千人义山行”跑步竞赛活动昂首阔步迈入第12年，配合推广爱护古迹文化的理念，第12届筹委会希望前来参与的公众人士和学生，能够亲眼去认识各族先贤的墓和纪念碑，亲身感受义山群这片土地的历史性，以及它作为隆市绿色地带的重要性。

今年的“千人义山行”定于2012年4月22日（星期日）早上7时正，于吉隆坡广东义山行政楼展开。在籍中学生（18岁以下）报名费为RM15，公 众人士则每人RM20；凡马来西亚公民皆可报名参赛，报名者均可获赠大会精美T恤1件。为了方便作业与节省资源，筹委会欢迎大家浏览 www.jogathonwarisan.org.my 直接网上报名。

本届竞赛分成9个组别进行，即男女中学组、男女公开组、男女宿将组（50岁及以上）、华团董事组、欢乐组（小学生与家长）及残健人士组。今年的中学 组和公开组竞赛路程长达11公里，而其它组别皆为7公里。为了鼓励更多上班族走出户外运动，今年特别将公开组的奖牌增设到50名。去年没有参与的朋友，记 得不要再错过今年千人徒步行走的机会了。

参与筹备2012年度“跑跑古迹，带出关怀”千人义山行的联办单位共有25个：隆雪华青、雪隆福青、万挠广青、雪隆惠州青、雪隆潮青、雪隆理华同学 会、雪隆会宁青、隆雪河婆青、雪隆广西青、雪隆茶阳青、雪隆海南青、隆雪陈氏青、雪隆校友联青、隆雪华堂妇女组、雪隆兴安青、雪隆嘉应青、雪隆福州青、隆 雪惠安泉港青、隆雪客总青、巴生福建青、宗乡青雪州分会、马来西亚黄氏登进青、新纪元学院、白沙罗新村华人义山公会和马来西亚华人残障协会。“千人义山 行”近年来的参加者包含了不同宗教背景的异族同胞，而雪隆区各中小学都全力支持此运动，筹委会肩负着提醒和教育新生代的重大责任。

On the 500 acres of green of the Jalan Sungai Besi area, lies the cemeteries and crematoriums of 8 religious communities and dialects clans, namely the:
1 ) Kwang Tung Clan
2 ) Kwangsi Clan
3 ) Hokkien Clan
4 ) Sinhalese Buddhists
5 ) Roman Catholics
6 ) Hindus
7 ) Sikhs
8 ) Japanese

Since late 19th Century, some 250,000 KL residents have been buried or cremated here.
These cemeteries and crematoriums has witnessed Kuala Lumpur’s history for more than one century.

Kwang Tung Clan Cemetery
It is very old. It is big but there is limited space, so it’s crowded.

One area, which was long, sunken, and snaked around like a river was an amazing river of graves and headstones.

Graveyard of Capitan Yap Ah Loy in Kwang Tung Clan Cemetery has been restored and preserved for tourism used.

There is a pair of stone lion besides Capitan Yap Ah Loy’s graveyard. There is also a tablet stone recorded the history of Capitan Yap Ah Loy.

Hokkien Clan Cemetery
Walking around is tricky — the ground is soft and icky.
At one point in that graveyard, there is the most amazing view of downtown KL.

Kwangsi Clan Cemetery

Roman Catholics Cemetery

Japanese Cemetery

Japanese cemetery is the most beautiful and tidy. It’s well keep by Embassy of Japan.

Hindus Crematorium

This is where the body burning.

Origin of the Preservation

But in the year 1996 until 2000, our government intend to destroy the cemeteries under the name of materialistic development.
Luckily, a group of concerned Malaysian citizens, stand together with the managements of the cemeteries and crematoriums, opposed any attempts to remove the cemeteries and crematorium for commercial purpose.

Finally the cemeteries and crematorium has been preserved successfully because of these reasons:
1) To disturb the dead and scarify the spiritual aspect of the society is not approved by any religion and civilization.
2) The century-old cemeteries shall be gazette as a heritage and the DBKL has the responsibility to beautify this area as tourist attraction.
3) The 500 acres of land there as an important green lung of Kuala Lumpur, shall be protect for the living quality in Kuala Lumpur.

Jogathon Warisan

Every year, Youth Section of The Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall together with others youth organization will organise a running event call Jogathon Warisan in these cemetery.
The main purpose is to remind public the importance of our historical sites preservation.

1895年义山创立

吉隆坡广东义山创立於1895年（光绪21年），从殖民地时代迄至我国独立，跨越两个千禧年，走过了115多年的历史长河，见证了从人烟稀少荒芜的土地，发展到今日繁荣进步的大都会。

追溯历史，华裔侨胞於500多年前买棹南渡， 大约在百馀年前, 大批来自广东及福建两省的移民，纷移居马来半岛，分散各处，一部分侨胞到吉隆坡落脚，受雇做苦力及采矿工作。

荒冢累累，尸骨暴露

吉隆坡开埠於1859年，开埠之初，地广人稀，侨胞不幸逝世，草草成殓，随处埋葬，那时候还没有创立［义山」或「公冢 」，以供埋葬。

当时在毫无选择的情况下，侨胞都会把逝世者遗骸埋葬在目前惹兰汉都亚附近国家体育馆及半山芭监狱原址一带地区，变成荒冢累累，跟乡团有关系或其亲属 尚在者，在三四年开棺执骨，火化後骨灰置瓮，寄回中国重葬，入土为安：那些无亲无戚者，客死异乡，白骨长埋斯地，由於荒冢，孤坟乏人管理，历经雨打日晒， 牛羊践踏，野狗扒挖，有的棺木暴露，有的金瓮破损，斑斑白骨，散露荒岗野草间，不忍卒睹。 先贤叶亚来、叶观盛、赵煜、陆佑及叶致英等日击此情此景，顿生恻隐之心，为了一劳永逸处理侨胞善後殡葬事宜，遂发起成立吉隆坡广东义山，并著手向殖民地政 府申请葬地，经过多年的奔波及筹划，终於获得政府首肯，於1895 年正式宪报公布，拨给吉隆坡语文局路（旧飞机场路）一块215英亩地段给义山作葬地，直至1920 年，另拨地48英亩，使本义山吉隆坡语文局路葬地，增至263英亩。

开辟山地。筹募经费

本义山虽然获得政府批准一块葬地，但成立初期，经费短绌，开山、筑路、建庙、建亭等工程，需筹募一笔钜大的费用，义山管理层，四出奔走募捐，获得各 方热烈的响应，计广肇会馆献捐4000元、海南会馆1000元、潮州八邑会馆600 元、惠州会馆480元、赤溪会馆280 元，捐款数目不算多，但在义山管理的精心策划，撙節支出下，完成了建造福德祠与道路的计划，并开始启用葬地，以解决侨胞葬殡之需求。

起源于1996年至2000年间发生吉隆坡旧机场路各种族及宗教的义山与火化场搬迁事件，从2000年开始，隆雪华青每一年都会召集雪隆区一带的青年团体，联办千人义山行。举办千人义山行的目的是希望加强公众对古迹的认识、对义山的关注、对大自然的爱护及对运动的重视，并通过活动促使政府华社共同关注、保护及美化义山。

千人义山行已走过了十年的岁月，而今年，千人义山行更已来到了第11个年头。第11届千人义山行筹委决定于2011年1月20日（星期四）早上11时，假隆雪华堂楼上讲堂召开新闻发布会以公布2011年度第11届千人义山行的详情。
